TIER IV is a Japanese deep-tech company that specializes in autonomous driving technology. It leads the development of Autoware, which is described as the world's first open-source software for autonomous driving. The company's mission is to democratize autonomous driving technology by fostering an ecosystem where various organizations and individuals can contribute to and benefit from its development. TIER IV offers services including the development of autonomous driving systems, provision of autonomous electric vehicles (EVs) through a subscription model, and unmanned logistics and passenger services utilizing autonomous EVs. Additionally, they provide autonomous driving software and cloud services to the mobility industry, alongside support for vehicle development and operation.
