GovTechTokyo is a General Incorporated Foundation established in July 2023 by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to accelerate digital transformation (DX) across the entire Tokyo metropolitan area, including the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and its 62 municipalities. It serves as a new platform to foster digital transformation and bring policy innovations by collaborating with diverse partners, including local governments and private companies. Its mission is to enrich and improve the lives of individual residents through the power of digital technology. GovTechTokyo achieves this by offering six key services: promoting DX within Tokyo Metropolitan Government bureaus and municipalities, strengthening and standardizing digital infrastructure, securing and developing digital talent, promoting data utilization, and creating new services through public-private collaboration. The organization also aims to contribute to the digitalization of over 1,700 municipalities across Japan and other cities globally.
