The company name "SETOLAS" is derived from "SETO" (Seto Inland Sea) and "LAS" (Atlas), reflecting its aspiration to globalize various technologies and businesses, building on its roots in magnesium resources from the Seto Inland Sea. As a holding company, SETOLAS Holdings manages the business strategies of its affiliated companies, which include Kyowa Chemical Industry Co., Ltd. (specializing in inorganic chemicals and active pharmaceutical ingredients) and Magmitt Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (focused on medical pharmaceutical products). The group also encompasses five overseas subsidiaries and SETOLAS Foodtech Co., Ltd., which operates a food business in Japan. SETOLAS Holdings also houses its basic research and development division, Technical Center, and Intellectual Properties Department, which support its affiliates and drive new business initiatives, such as agricultural biotechnology.
